Day 15 : vegetables.
I love making the leeks even though they take a while to make.

Christmas canes
Day 12 : Christmas canes
Different canes ready to be sliced with Christmas motifs.
Ps it's very very dark today and I can't get a really good clear picture. I'll try again later if the rain ever stops.

Window pane cookies
Day 11 : window pane cookies.
These are a mini version of the type of cookies you can hang on a tree. Made of shortbread, gingerbread or cookie dough. A shape is cut out of the middle and a smashed up boiled sweet put in the space which spreads out when its in the oven.

Christmas tree santa
Day 10 : Santa decorations
I made these little Santas and angels about 7 years ago for the small Christmas tree that is in my craft room.
Each Santa is 1.5 inches tall and I put a small loop in the back of them so they could be hung from a tree.

Kitchen decor - fridge magnet
Day 9 : advent calendar
I recently did a post about the fridge magnets I made but I thought I'd add them to the advent calendar as they are a recent make.
One is a resin basket with a variety of different vegetables on it.
For the one with my name I used a plywood disc that are 6cm across with a small, strong magnet the back.

Christmas decoration
Day 8 : Christmas decoration.
A gingerbread house bauble! I made a fimo bottom that fit into the bauble added a few candy canes and glitter and placed the house on the tray in the middle. I stick the fimo bottom onto the bauble but the house is blue tacked so it can be removed.

Miniature wall art
Day 7 : kitchen wall art
This is one of a series I'm making to go on my kitchen wall. This one has sandwiches and cake on it. I like them as they can show off my miniatures and I can see them everyday without them being hidden in a dolls house.

Sunday dinner
Day 6 on the advent show and tell is beef. As a typical Sunday dinner meat I'm showing the raw and cooked version. The cooked version was quite time consuming to make as I had to do make several different shades of clay from the red rare middle to the grey brown cooked edge. Then I did a test cook in the oven to ensure the colours were right before making the final piece.

Yule Log
Day 4: Yule log
A chocolate swiss roll covered in chocolate icing. I made three different types. The messiest part was putting the icing on. I should have really done it in two parts but didn't really think it through. The icing was made my mixing transclucent liquid sculpey and brown fimo clay until it was a gooey gluey substance.

Gingerbread house preparation boards
Day 2 : Gingerbread house preparation boards
These always look so pretty. However there is a lot of preparation that needs to be done before assembly. In the real world it's a case of shopping in the sweet and baking aisle but in miniature they have to be made first!
I made the snowmen, lollipops, candy canes, mints, christmas tree cookies, robin, snowman and penguin biscuits and icing ready to decorate. Then the gingerbread houses themselves and the fun began making each one individual and unique.
The marble effect boards the houses sit on are 4x3cm. I wanted these prep boards to have some of the chaos of a real kitchen while in the middle of building a gingerbread house.
